Purpose
The OSMoSE Governance aims the management of the development and use of the Space System Ontology, mandated by the System Data Repository Harmonisation dossier, approved by the MB4SE Advisory group, in a consistent, industrial and useful manner, agreed by the community.
- the MB4SE Advisory Group responsible for all managerial issues (e.g. risks, legal issues, roadmap) related to the Space System Ontology and its utilization to enable semantic interoperability, and
- the OSMoSE Design Authority Group responsible for the Space System Ontology development, taking all technical decisions (e.g. language selection, definition of the development lifecycle), and guiding the elaboration of the global conceptual data model to ensure its capability to achieve interoperability.
Governance groups
The OSMoSE Governance is conducted by two groups:
The OSMoSE Design Authority Group is expected to assess those technical decisions made in the scope of other initiatives, i.e. the System Factory and Data Hub, that impact the Ontology development process and the scope of the universes of discourse. At the same time, this group should contribute to the synergy across parallel activities, informing about any decisions and results directly connected to both activities.
The System Factory, the Data Hub, and the Space System Ontology are needed to enable interoperability withing hte Model-Based System Engineering community. All these initiatives are federated under the common Model Based for System Engineering (MB4SE) for Space initiative.

It includes the information that the MB4SE Advisory Group is in charge of managing for controlling the development of the Space System Ontology, e.g. dissemination policy, programme of work, risks, etc. - The OSMoSE Space Sytem Ontology Development Plan
It includes the information that the OSMoSE Design Authority Group is in charge of managing for the elaboration of the Space System Ontology, e.g. language, development infrastructure, configuration plan, etc. - The OSMoSE Ecosystem Consolidation and Mitigation Plans
They aim at the definition of the status of the ORM ecosystem in Europe, and how to consolidate it in order to mitigate the dependencies on technologies and providers from outside Europe. They cover (i) the assessment of the European ecosystem in the ORM domain: actors, status, knowledge, plans, availability, etc; (ii) analyses how to contribute to the European ecosystem and (iii) proposes a plan to consolidate it, including the technological development, license agreements, and training plans.
